Prabowo After Receiving General Rank: Thank You President Jokowi
Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo after being bestowed the honorary four-star general title during the TNI/Polri coordination meeting in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (28/2). He also conveyed his gratitude to all soldiers and TNI/Polri institutions.
Prabowo further claimed that since the age of 18, he had sworn to always be loyal to the country, nation, and people of Indonesia, and to dedicate his body and soul to Indonesia.
“I will always uphold that oath,” he said.
Prabowo Subianto officially received a promotion to honorary four-star general.
Initially, Prabowo held the rank of Lieutenant General (Ret.) or three-star general. Now, he has been bestowed the new title of General (Hon.).
The promotion was based on Presidential Decree Number 13/TNI/2024 dated 21 February 2024 concerning the Special Award of the Honorary TNI General Rank.
President Jokowi also revealed that the bestowal of the honorary four-star general title to Prabowo was a recommendation from TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subianto.
The award was given to Prabowo as a reaffirmation of his dedication to the people, nation, and state.
Furthermore, according to Jokowi, the decision had undergone verification by the Council for Decorations and Honorary Awards and was in accordance with Law Number 20 of 2009.
