NBA All-Star 2024: East Team Surpasses 200 Points

VUONS, Jakarta The Eastern Conference team emerged victorious in the NBA All-Star 2024. Led by captain Giannis Antetokounmpo, the East Team defeated the Western Conference team 201-186. Several impressive records were set at the event held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, on Monday (19/2/2024) morning WIB.

The East Team’s 211 points set a new record, marking the first time a team has scored over 200 points in an All-Star game. The previous highest score in an NBA All-Star game was 196, which occurred in 2016 in Toronto.

Indiana Pacers’ hometown hero Tyrese Haliburton shone brightly in the first quarter. Haliburton, making his first NBA All-Star start, scored five three-pointers in just 92 seconds, giving the East Team a 53-47 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, East Team’s point guard Damian Lillard showcased his skills with long-range three-pointers. The East Team led comfortably 51-42 at halftime, with Lillard contributing a total of 22 points in the first two quarters.

In the third quarter, the West Team struggled to keep up with the East Team’s three-point shooting. Lillard even scored three points from mid-court midway through the third quarter. Several East Team reserves, such as Jaylen Brown and Scottie Barnes, also joined the three-point shooting spree.

The West Team seemed to give up the chase in the fourth quarter. Furthermore, some West Team players like LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Nikola Jokic did not appear too serious in the NBA All-Star 2024.
